Learn how to do the plumbing for a new bathtub installation. In this case, I’m installing a tub in an unfinished basement bathroom so video 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYZpkW3vdTU) shows how to cut into the concrete and get under the foundation while this video shows the plumbing setup, test fitting and finished product. Tubs will vary as far as installation but mine required a lot of screws into the surrounding studs preceded by liquid nails/construction glue on the base of the tub and surrounding walls. Questions? Leave a comment and I’ll do my best to get back to you.
CORRECTIONS: Viewers have pointed out some mistakes I made so I wanted to be sure to pass the corrections along. They’re noted in the video already but 1) Use ABS Glue, not PVC glue, 2) Always apply the glue to both fittings – not just one and 3) make sure the opening on the overflow valve face down, not up.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. We’ve been using the bathroom for about a year and everything’s working great.

Christy’s Hot Blue Glue? Really?
Will fail down the road.
Should have used “ABS” Glue!
Where is vent pipe ?
Why do the home improvementy types always come to smart off in the comments and dislkie the video? Those types of guys get cheated on and are oblivious.
Nice job I need to connect a shower stall to existing toilet drain any tips or links it’s also on a concrete slab.
Why don't just make a nice acces hole a back wall??
Hi i am trying to install my new tub i bought the new kit and line up the hole but the only problem is the that drain is almost less than half inch lower than the tub hole that is after placing the first rubber gasket that comes with the drain so if I add additional rubber gasket om the top of the first one would that be ok it is basically one rubber washer lower to be precise need your opinion please thx
My tub is clogs but when I take out the screw in peice the water goes down. Is the water going into the ground?. I would also like to know if I put drain cleaner down the overflow would that be ok? .. thanks in advance
