Plan Ahead. How to Install a sump pump in the crawl space. Step by step instructions. Easy Do It Yourself Project. Plus How to Core the Fopundation wall for dishcarge pipe from sump pump and plumb the pipe up from the pit through the wall to outside.

Plan ahead – set up your sump pump, and sump pit before you go into the crawl space. Cut the pipe to length and glue your fittings once you have dug out the hole for the sump basin.

Core Wall (drill) before you plumb the PVC from the Sump.

Easy digging if you have the right shovels. Grade out excess soil or place in 5 gal bucket and remove.

Zoeller M53 Sump Pump is the best pump on the market. We use only Zoeller Pumps for all our installations.

The Sump Pit is NDS with solid lid cover. 1 1/2 pvc is used to plumb the discharge with T on outside to help if it freezes. a Clean out plug is installed on the T so you can take the cap off.

Using a Hammer Drill with 2″ Core Bit, we drill through the Foundation wall to install the 1 1/2 PVC Pipe.

Conncet your footer tile that is along the inside foundation wall to the pit. and cover with gravel.

Plug your pump in to a GFI outlet and your done.

  2. What's the difference between a sump liner and a sump basin, or are they the same thing? It seems like the "basins" are thicker…the liners seem really thin. Should both be used?

  3. I need to setup something to drain the excess (rain) water out of my in ground pool automatically. Instead of having to go outside during downpours to turn the pool pump on to waste and wait for the pool to drain (Live in Florida). I’m thinking I can use this concept by drilling a hole in the strainer basket attach pvc or drain pipe lead away from the pool to sump liner/pump (set in the ground) to drain. What do you think? Do you have a video that shows how to do this?
