Refinishing an antique table | Refinishing furniture DIY | Trash to Treasure

Hi youtube family! Today I am tackling a project that I have been meaning to do for a while. This side table once belonged to my grandparents and in fact it is a set of two. But for the purpose of today’s video, I am just working on this one. It has some very rough spots on it but I knew since I have some experience, although not an expert, refinishing antique pieces, that I would give it a go!. Come along with me as I bring some life back into this meaningful piece.

  1. Beautiful job on the table! You definitely did it right. I've been refinishing furniture for 40 years and it's nice to see it done properly. I found your channel today and love it!! My favorites are the upcycle ones. I love to take things that no one loves anymore and make them loveable again!! Thanks for sharing your talent!!!

  2. Great job on refinishing the table. I also liked the natural look. I know it is messy to use the wood stripper and it takes time to remove the varnish. Was this piece solid wood ? I learned that with veneer, you have to be very careful using a sander… because you can sand through the layer of veneer very easily. Have you ever used wipe on poly? A bit better than the usual polyurethane as it doesn't leave the brush strokes on the wood (requires a bit less sanding between each layer).
