Good idea increasing the pipe width. However, if it's connecting in to a 25 mm connection with your water board, does it really matter? Let me know as I'm replacing mine also.

great work! ,, do you know if there was there was a short length of MDPE between the mains chamber and your iron pipe, or if it connected directly into the mains? We have some iron pipe that i'd like to remove for the same reasons 🙂
Bloody lovely trench, you could’ve been handy during ww2
Me and the neighbour have seperate outside stop tap mains and water feeds but both suffer from low pressure United utilities are on the case now, they are going to check flow on main stop taps which is down an alleyway next to both houses.
Probably a silly question. Did you dig the trench out by hand?
On the off-chance you still spot responses to this video, who inspected the trench and pipe before you filled it in? A building inspector or the water company? I need to do a connection to my new house (old barn) and the area is a bit grey but this video is the best info I've found anywhere. Presently I've got 750mm dug under the house wall ready for doing what you've done with soil pipe to bring the feed up through the soon to be poured sub-slab. Thanks. Nathan.
