The Tier1 Whole Home Carbon and KDF Water Purification and Salt-Free Water Softening (conditioning) System combines two separate filtration tanks for an impressive array of contamination removal.
It utilizes salt-free water softening (conditioning) in partnership with KDF and carbon media to deliver a solution for water hardness, while also reducing contaminants such as sediment, herbicides, pesticides, and chlorine taste and odor. The system also includes a sediment pre-filter to handle particulate contaminants.
With this system, there is no need for a brine tank, expensive replacement salt, backwash waste, or control valve programming to worry about.
The Salt-free softener uses a media and process called Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC). This process does not remove calcium and magnesium from the water like traditional softeners. Instead, it changes them from their ionic form to a harmless crystalline form. In this state they are stable and wont attach to pipes and appliances.
