Solutions For Dealing with Gaps between Existing Flooring and New Bathtub or Shower Installation

If you have a gap between the existing flooring and a new bathtub or shower unit, you will have a couple of choices. The most cost-effective way will be to place a small piece of trim at the bottom, covering the gap. However, you can always move the new bathtub or shower away from the back wall, in order to reduce or eliminate the size of the gap and add drywall, a shelf or trim to the back wall. greg, i want to get your thoughts about finishing the wall instead of the floor.ill be installing a 3 piece tub & surrounding soon. if i butt the sheet rock to the flange instead of putting the sheetrock over the flange, what do you recommend using to fill the void between the rock and the tub / surrounding flange?
