Wow, you sound like the narrator from Weird History.
Thank you. I was hoping you would also explain how to remove the part that is still attached to the sink, but I guess it's pretty obvious.
i was able to do everything shown in this video with only a fork, a screwdriver, a towel and a bowl. it is easiest to knock the coin down than to pull up and requires very little tools. thanks
So the way you showed to test the voltage coming into the garbage disposal was entirely wrong. You should turn the breaker off. Turn the switch for the garbage disposal on and then test voltage. Simply testing voltage without that switch on will give a false read.
Only the uncultured call the suicide stick a voltage detector
Aw'ight, now do I use that wee bucket to catch the water from my dishwasher forever more? I best get a slightly bigger one, eh?
Thank you so much! This saved me hours of reading instructions! New disposal installed simply by following these steps in reverse order 🙂
Thanks!
Why not just unplug it. Theres an idea
This is amazingly short COMPLETE video for replacing a disposer.
Although I've replaced many in my past & twice installed a new disposer to sink without… what I really only needed to refresh was my memory how the disposer to sink connection works.
BUT ALSO IN ALMOST EVERY disposer I've worked on the electrical wiring is NOT HARD WIRED but very simply has a plug tassel the goes into a switches electrical outlet under the sink which makes.the electrical part IDIOTPROOF.
Hence I URGE if you are replacing or doing anew… then do not hard wire but put in an outlet to the switched power as all disposers.live only so long & future replacements are even easier yet!
AND AFTER you work on disposer KEEP that wrench under the sink as it is how you unjam a stuck disposer such as from an orange seed like I just had to do before I figured out we have a bigger problem. Either a water leaking disposer or leak above it.
I buy the ones with plug and play. But do turn off the breaker for that area first.
Thanks! I was able to remove unwanted particle from disposal by rotating rotator as mentioned. Thanks again
HGTV IS garbage tv 😛
My Mother in law got corn on the cob struck in the garbage disposal. This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Thank you and this is extremely helpful and useful!
F*CK THIS!!!!! I'm calling the maintenance man. Lazy bastard ain't doing sh!t anyway.
Came here to find out how to hook up the drain after removal ;-(
A 1/4" Allen wrench can be used in place of the garbage disposal key.
What do i do with dishwasher holes? And where did the electric wire go?
Thanks. It worked
That No Cost Solar Commercial (that interrupted the garbage disposal removal video) yeah if you a California homeowner – Of course YouTube is headquartered in California – San Bruno. That’s why you guys in Africa are watching a No Cost Solar commercial.
Extremely Informative! Thank you
Great tutorial. Like this because the dislike button is going away.
Its deceptively easy when you give proper and complete instructions @HGTV. No mention of removing part for the sink or snap ring had to find a video from a random dude to help me. Major fail.
What happens when the electrical cover plate screw does not want to come out?
