In this video, house renovation brothers Dave and Rich show how to install an Oatey laundry outlet box with pex.
An Oatey laundry outlet box is key to the proper supply and draining of a washing machine. This particular laundry outlet box or washing machine box was plumbed with pex and has the water supply from the top. The Oatey box allows configuring the supply from either the top or the bottom of the box. The tools needed for this job are a hammer and small standard screwdriver, PVC primer and PVC cement, a multi-tool or a saw and a drill.
Hope this helps!

good job
really helpful, thanks
thanks much for making this!!
Do I need the drain at the bottom of the box if I’m using a basement setup that will utilize a pump to get the old water up into the plumbing?
Can I use a different brand manifold if I’m using upondor pex pipe?
Is there a height requirement for that box above the Washers drain?
Thanks for the video…very helpful. It appeared maybe 1 of the compression rings was missing at the elbow above the hot water valve?
Thanks again, very nice job.
How the hell are you supposed to replace a valve in the future?
Height of box from floor?
You should sue the hell out of your plumber for the hack job he did on those wall studs. He ever heard of a hole saw and 90 degree drill?
