How hi/far can a wash machine pump the water? Eg. is the pump strong enough to go from basement up and out first floor?
Isn't there too much soap and detergents in gray water to use for consumable vegetation?
I’m watching from Australia- it’s a place that needs this type of innovation so much. The presenter is very knowledgeable and easy to follow. Well done and well done to the city that has helped foster this initiative.
you say its graywater, but you underestimate how much some people pee in the shower (I'm some people)
Great video segment!
This seems like a quick way to kill your plants. Soaps and detergents as well as bleach cannot be good for plants.
Great Idea!
Doesn't the soaps from graywater harm plant life?
Two additional thoughts. It helps to seal the hole surrounding the new pipe heading outside with caulking or a boot. Secondly, PVC pipes are not UV rated, meaning that when installed outside exposed to the sun, PVC will become brittle over time and may crack. This is easily solved by covering it with a coat of paint, which helps hide it as well if the color matches the house.
At the end he was going to suggest using a flow valve to even out the discharge of the greywater to get even distribution of the water.. sigh… I wish he had taken the time to explain this so we got the whole picture..
