The first step for installing a basement bathroom is checking the floor for levelness. We had a severely out of level floor and used Laticrete NXT self-leveler.
Once that was set up, the tub and mixing valve were installed. Hydro Ban Board was used to waterproof the shower walls and build a custom shower niche.
4×12 subway tile was set over the Hydro Ban Board using Laticrete 4XLT and 255 thin-set mortar. And Permacolor Select Grout was used for the shower walls and bathroom floor.
After the 12×36 porcelain bathroom floor was installed and cured, we added the vanity, toilet, and shower trim kit.
