How to Build your Own LIGHTBOARD / Light board DIY Fast and Easy | Elisa Valkyria

This is a very easy and cheap way to make your own lightboard
You can use this light board to draw or teach online while facing the camera
MATERIALS USED:
LED strip lights (got them at Home Depot)
4 shelf brackets (Home Depot)
4 small c- clamps (Home Depot)
Black backdrop
EXPO Neon dry erase markers (STAPLES)
PLEXIGLASS 1/4″x24″x36″ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C13ZSBA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(could use starphire glass instead of plexiglass but starphire is much more expensive – regular glass will not provide desired effect)

  1. Thanks for this! I used it as a basis for a lightboard that I've used for teaching via Zoom as well as recording videos. I made a couple of modifications to your excellent plan. I also clamp the brackets to the table to keep the lightboard from moving around. I put the LED strip on top of the plexiglas instead of the bottom, which gives a little more stability. I've also had better results using face lighting from the side rather than the front, though this adds to the expense. I think using the lightboard has been a real asset to my remote teaching.

  2. Question… I want to turn my current glassboard into one of these but it's mounted flush against the wall and not really able to place anything behind it for the black background, would spray painting the back black work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
