How I fixed a big mistake on a clients gate | JIMBO’S GARAGE
We can’t always be perfect. I made this gate for a client and when I went to install it I discovered that it was too tall. I must have measured wrong. This was the best way I could think of fixing it.

Just a couple of observations i noticed you measured from picket to picket i thought it was more prudent to measure from one datum point and i also did not see you measure top to bottom or corner to corner for squareness. I am just wondering if you did those off camera?
Hinges won't be equal.
We all spend a certain % of our lives doing incredibly stupid things. KUDOs for your willingness to share one of yours, and for the skilled fix. Next project.
You would think you were fabricating a part for the space shuttle, this is basic metalwork which you describe way over the top.
So I learned today your a left hander, who'd you catch that from?
This explains everything
I think you do a great job every time you build something
The man who never made a mistake never made anything.
