Convert Flux Core Mig Welder to Gas For Cheap
A lot of cheap box store welders are compatible with gas, but require an expensive conversion kit. The Lincoln kit is around $130-180. This video shows how to buy a few parts for around $50 and do the same conversion. This particular video is showing a Lincoln 220v Weld Pak 155. The same basic process will work on a lot of different models as long as they are gas compatible. The

I know this is old but from the solenoid to the marching. Is the brass valve a 1/4 male x 1/4 hose barb or is it 1/4 male to 1/8 hose barb. I was looking at the hose fitting on the machine and it looks like it’s 1/8. I don’t was to use the wrong hose and hose barb and have gas leaking on the gas input on the machine.
Nice job – do you by chance know the part number for the 220V solenoid?
Great video buddy.
NEVER PUT TAPE ON UR BOTTLE… ask a welding supply what to use on the rest of it.. tape isnt good .. i wouldnt use it.. i heard somewhere it reacts with some of the fuels used.. but for sure NEVER USE ON BOTTLE SIDE…
Great work, definitely will give it a try.
One thing you need to bear in mind though, is
you need to change the weld wire to the un-shielded one.
Hey thanks for making this video. I found it very helpful.
WHAT GOOD IS THIS VIDEO IF ITS FOR "ALL THE WELDERS THAT ALLOW FOR EASY CONVERSION"? what if I dont have "THAT NOZZLE" ????????? Right here on the circuit board there are 2 PRONG THINGIES???? prong thingies? Really?
the hose he using in this video is not suitable for the heat inside the case of welder its going to melt and catch a fire
I know this video is old but I have same welder and it’s 110 volt does the 220 solenoid need to be 110 as well?
Great detail I was just getting ready to see what I needed to convert to gas so I can weld sheet metal better. Thanks
