Welding Table & Downdraft Bench – Garage Makeover – Part 4

This is the last of the benchwork in my garage renovation. I incorporated a welding area, an assembly area and a router station that has a downdraft sanding area into the design. I used white melamine and 10 ga steel for the bench top surfaces. The frame is made with 1-1/2″ square tube edges and 3/4″ square tube runners.

  1. all I can say is loved the video and so excited about this garage..I can only imagine what projects you are going to pull out after the makeover..nice Greg keep it up! CJ

  2. With the welding table and other times when you weld in the shop, how do you handle fumes? Just open up, or do you have an extraction hood of some kind? With winter coming, it's not so bad for me (lower east coast), but there's lots of times I'd rather just do it inside.

  3. Hi Greg, really enjoy your videos. I noticed you use a lot of CAD (from sketch up?) and am wondering if you know what are some good resources in learning how to use CAD to plan out projects and possibly for 3D printing in the future. How did you learn? Thanks
