Today we show you the final step before planting our vegetables in the garden. At this point we have now amended the soil, created our beds and paths, and planted our annuals and perennials along the outside of the entire new Front yarden space.

We also address why we don’t mind working with our clay soil and some of the benefits that come from growing from a clay based soil. For example, did you know that clay soil is typically nutrient dense, and it retains moisture well.

We know that it can flood and be difficult to work with at first, but with the proper additives, you can end up with a well-draining soil that many of your plants will love.

Speaking of those plants, we talk about some varieties of vegetables that grow well in clay-based soils.
