Hi Kevin, I'm a new gardener starting out. My tomato plants are going fantasticly thanks to you and your channel. I live in Australia and the weather can be very unpredictable and challenging. The day can start of scortching hot and end in a wild storm. Grow bags may be the solution to protecting my plants. That way I can move them to safty when needed.
But I have a strange question. Where did you get your colourful growbags? All I can find is black, black and more black. I garden with my toddler, he loves it. And colour would be perfect for us. Also, is there a type of grow bag you'd recommend? I'm very new to this.

If you want containers, GROW BAGS (or Root Pouches, as some people call them, especially down in Australia,) are included in this playlist.
THIS line of study has given me some GREAT ideas!!!
I deliberately COMBINED several ideas in this -including bamboo because it can be used for structural building material like for trusses, etc, as well as for hedges & fencing material by using clumping bamboo and that provides protection for all your other plants from heat extremes, as well as from wind.
You can create fencing that will grow and get taller and stronger as the years go on.

The videos on making grow bags are particularly interesting because in the comment section (video link below!!) they talked about using an impulse sealer instead of going to the whole laborious time consuming process of using a sewing machine…
so I got one of those.

they come in at about 13 cents per one gallon bag!!! two things are really great about them:
They Allow the roots to grow really well because they allow Air and water through them, and thus you can set up a self-watering system very easily and cheaply and some of those videos are in this playlist.
In addition, they are a ready to sell product!!! Grow plants in them and their container ready to sell, and send home with the customer!!!
Look on eBay for what bamboo sells for: if it is grown in a bag, it is ready to sell to customers to load right into their car at $30 a pop!!!

If you want to do it yourself, I found the perfect fabric on eBay.
It is 12 year weed barrier fabric by DeWitt the same stuff the guy uses in the video in this playlist. You can get rolls that are either 3 or 4 ft wide and green 50 to 300 ft long… so a 4 x 300 ft roll is 1200 square feet, and it takes two square feet to make one gallon bags, so you get 600 bags out of that so divide $80 by 600 bags:
13 cents per bag 6 pennies per square foot!!!
I made another playlist on bamboo and I have a playlist on mushrooms cuz all of those are like high-dollar high-end stuff, and mostly easy to do…mushrooms aren't that easy, just different, but bamboo is fairly simple.
The biggest problem I have is trying to get people to look at new ideas and do new things instead of doing it the same old way they always did it.
that's why I want to tell people like you about these ideas, because you know, in helping you out because you you're forward thinking you can understand different ideas and put them into practice so I'm pretty sure you'll be interested in this:-)
one of my goals has been to have as many ideas and materials in use or at least ready to be used by someone who's interested in doing it that's why I buy things the products that I have invented or figured out how to duplicate somebody else's idea. I want to have as many businesses ready to go as possible so people can make money and help people build a house or grow food or whatever and this covers all of those!!!
