Good video.
I was at a flower garden show last week & a backyard welder was selling mailbox & post, arbors, planter he made.
He said no one use tig or stick welding any more & only junkyards use cutting torch, everyone uses mig only, now.
I am one of 20 welder I know who still use all four types of welding, has the small set-up went to mig only. if so is it lack of skill or because it is cheaper to get set up & ran.
I use a Bobcat to tig, mig & stick, but we use the mig less then stick & tig.
Awesome!
What stops the weld metal from fusing to the side of the hole? Is it because they are different types of metal?
Never mind, cuz it's a heat sink, I see it in the comments now
Jody, I watched this video when you first posted it and have made several of these vise-grip slide hammers in various sizes. Everyone is impressed with them. Thank you for the idea and the how-to video.
I noticed you mentioned Copper Alloy as a 3rd hand tool. In another video I think you mentioned copper silicon when TIG-ing stainless? Are these alloys used because their composition prevents arching while providing an additional means of holding down the work piece?
Nice video. Wish I could tig weld. It's pretty tough. At least I have mig and stick down pretty good
I wish my portable welding table looked that good!
Hi Jody !
Thanks for sharing your very interesting knowledge.
I have seen those foldable Nomad welding table, but I was afraid about the thickness of if. I mean it seems to be 2mm, so doesn't it deform itself due to the heat ?
Thanks
