Interior Design – IKEA Kitchen Contest Makeover
We reveal the 2015 IKEA Kitchen Contest Makeover winners’ new space! Discover how designer Sarah Hartill gave the lucky homeowners their dream kitchen.
The homeowner’s wanted a kitchen they could use for family time and entertaining. Keeping this in mind, Sarah knocked down the dividing walls to make an open-concept layout that included a dining area. A large island centers the space, providing lots of storage.
Sarah’s design is clean and modern with some mid-century elements to complement the rest of the home’s modern decor. A textured geometric backsplash serves as a subtle accent while stone-like porcelain tiles bring warmth in. Large windows offer a flood of natural light, adding to the relaxed and cool vibe.

Will placing the refrigerator next to the oven and microwave reduce longevity of the fridge?
It's beautiful!
What’s the name of the ikea white cabinet door and the ikea wood tone doors?
