First
I would fire the designer because as you get older you are going to need a wider door to get a wheelchair or walker in the bathroom.
Very naic good job
Wow looks great!
Can you make a video on peel and stick flooring?
new video!
Love watching 2 Masters at Work!!!
wow, several hours of labor by two master carpenters to save a ratty old door covered in lead paint.
AMAZIN
Dear TOH,
Please give us as much Norm as you can, he's fantastic.
Xoxo,
-Kurt
I prefer going to Home Depot and picking up a door…
Wow amazing video
These two pros can literally do anything when it comes to woodworking and carpentry. Norm and Tommy, you guys rock!
A 2ft wide door?
This is pretty cool! I have never seen someone saw a door in half like this.
Tommy keeps an eye on everyone, even Norm.
Love the work but there is no way I would ever have a 2 foot door anywhere in my home
Love watching and learning but still, this is the most absurd thing ever
Oh wow you guys are good. (Ron from Ga.)
The only way I can watch these two absolute beasts of knowledge and not hurt my ego is to picture them working in their undawayah.
It’s hard to believe a 24” door is code compliant. But it must be. Right?
Wow! 2 great master carpenters
To the naysayers, a 2' wide door isn't as small as it sounds.
I have a variety of sized doors around my house. The door to a walk in closet and utility room in my house are both actually 23 3/4" wide! A quarter inch less than 2 ft and they're totally comfortable.
How long did that door project actually take?
Norm!! Good to see ya
I'd say that the job is easy with $5k in Festool power tools but these two could remodel a kitchen with a Fisher Price tool set. Pros all the way. I love watching Tommy and Norm.
Norm Abraham is an American Icon …
Why don’t you show them hanging the door
First class carpentry!
Legends
Remember when they always had the names of the equipment covered with tape!
Now it's This Old Festool House!!! Only takes $10K in tools to be like us!!!
They didn't hang the door
This Dumb Design Choice
Watching Tommy and Norm working together is a joy to behold.
2 SHORT
That is the goofiest project I have seen. I have several 2 foot doors that match those and I bet if they had looked around they could have located some. Who in the world wants a 2 foot door leading into a bathroom???
A door that narrow is just silly. One will be obligated to pass through it sideways.
Just finished watching the Weatherby Farm season. Norm and Tom were masters 35 years ago, it is a special kind of strange to see them still working today. Absolutely kings of the trade.
The favorite track saw.
A lot of work for a slightly narrower door. Doesn't even look that great with all those layers of chipping paint. You can't really paint over that without it looking trashy. Door needs completely stripped, sanded and sprayed. In the end it would be easier and yield better finish to get a custom replica prehung door made and slip it in.
my entire childhood was spent watching these guys , I am happy i still get to watch them today!
Here in Washington state, code dictates a door opening must have a clear measurement of 28 inches (rooms, not closets)
Always good to see Norm. Such a likeable guy. Tom is great too of course.
I always love the work that Tom and Norm do but I would love to see the end results please
This one is for Normy. Cut Disilva in half ,glue him together again and he is still the same size .
Norm & Tom…..what a great team for restoration and use of existing materials.
Nice to see Norm – I'm surprised he didn't use a biscuit joiner for that old door.
That’s a good eye dear..
Great to see the two masters working together..
This show i remember when I was a little boy watching this at my grandparents house
The tight grain on the rails of that old door… so nice. Great job guys!
Miss Molly loves TOH doggie doors !!
I have watched the show from day one in 1979. I met Norm at a home show. He is the nicest person. He stayed until everyone’s questions were answered
Man, wouldn't it be easier to buy a new door? LOL
The 2 masters at work
I'm sure the answer is obvious but why simply remove a foot or what out of the middle? It could have been done with simply two cuts and then glue the door back together?
Is Norm back in the show?
These 2 are the perfect duo.
At 1:19 the taper is not a pro.
Tommy and Norm billed out a about 4 hours….they could have bought a custom made gold door..
Wow!
These 2 masters should make a show together.
Geeze the tools alone to do this job are couple K
Always the best background music on TOH
Yeah great, but who’s going to have a thousand dollar mortiser and eight hundred dollar track saw laying around to just cut down a door. I suppose I could do it with my skill saw and pocket hole jig.
