  1. To the naysayers, a 2' wide door isn't as small as it sounds.

I have a variety of sized doors around my house. The door to a walk in closet and utility room in my house are both actually 23 3/4" wide! A quarter inch less than 2 ft and they're totally comfortable.

  2. I'd say that the job is easy with $5k in Festool power tools but these two could remodel a kitchen with a Fisher Price tool set. Pros all the way. I love watching Tommy and Norm.

  3. Remember when they always had the names of the equipment covered with tape!

Now it's This Old Festool House!!! Only takes $10K in tools to be like us!!!

  4. That is the goofiest project I have seen. I have several 2 foot doors that match those and I bet if they had looked around they could have located some. Who in the world wants a 2 foot door leading into a bathroom???

  5. Just finished watching the Weatherby Farm season. Norm and Tom were masters 35 years ago, it is a special kind of strange to see them still working today. Absolutely kings of the trade.

  6. A lot of work for a slightly narrower door. Doesn't even look that great with all those layers of chipping paint. You can't really paint over that without it looking trashy. Door needs completely stripped, sanded and sprayed. In the end it would be easier and yield better finish to get a custom replica prehung door made and slip it in.

  7. I have watched the show from day one in 1979. I met Norm at a home show. He is the nicest person. He stayed until everyone’s questions were answered

  8. I'm sure the answer is obvious but why simply remove a foot or what out of the middle? It could have been done with simply two cuts and then glue the door back together?

  9. Yeah great, but who’s going to have a thousand dollar mortiser and eight hundred dollar track saw laying around to just cut down a door. I suppose I could do it with my skill saw and pocket hole jig.
