Roll The Joists on a CMU / Concrete Block basement addition along with Rim Joist , Subfloor , Hangers and more. P3 I-Joist by EACOM at Menards
I-joists are prefabricated I-shaped structural members that are designed for residential and commercial floor and roof rafter applications. I-joists are comprised of solid sawn flanges and structural panel webs that provide strength and versatility. Their lightweight construction, ease of handling, strength, and ability to span longer distances result in lower overall labor and material costs compared to solid lumber.

  1. Oh my goodness I love these dam videos! Super knowledgeable. Very informative and such a beautifully edited step by step of the whole process from types of products, nails, materials, etc. Amazing! Absolutely flipping amazing! I tell yah'. I can't get enough.

  2. I must have missed a step? how did you attach the siding to the existing house? I saw you drilling really long screws into the hangers for the joists. My question is where do they bite into behind the siding? Directly into the old siding of the house? Thank you.

  3. OSHA Safety. Some of the joist cutting and nailing was a little…. You get an A+ for using a Girder truss though as I hate beams in house additions.

  4. Hey CLS, great video! How did you finish out the end I-Joists that were installed flush with the block wall (if at all) ? They appeared to be largely open when the framing was being erected. Thanks!

  5. Those exact joists, Menards sku 1065882, are now $71.84 each as of today! Lumber prices are INSANE!! Thank you for the great video series, you are an excellent teacher!!!
