Richard Trethewey shows Kevin O’Connor how he and plumbing contractor Kevin Bilo are fighting to keep the P-trap from the new bathtub on the second floor of the Lexington house from interfering with the decorative ceiling of the new kitchen. They use a new German bath waste and overflow kit that allows for the flexibility needed to solve the problem.

  1. honest question, why is the house all wood? I understand if the house is small but the size of this house is big enough for cement to be used for the beams and even walls and cement is better than wood, right?? considering USA always get hit by tornadoes and sht that ends up wrecking the whole house?

  2. Had a similar problem. Found a tub that has a raised bottom called AFR (above floor rough-in) that have me the room to jog waste without raising tub or notching floor.

  3. I am a licensed plumber and i am sure there was many days of scratching heads and swearing at the design team that thought of this ceiling detail. That detail cost them hundreds of extra dollars maybe even thousands. I hate designers. And yes how do you fix that if it breaks ? Richard is a good plumber

  4. I didn't know those kinds of tub fittings existed. So glad I came across this video. This could be a life saver in the future because omg what a freaking nightmare of a plumbing scenario.
