Building your own kitchen cabinets seems a little intimidating. All the planing and the milling and the sanding and the fancy joinery. No one has the tools and the time for that.
But what if you could build them all with 100% plywood and what if the joinery was quick, clean, and didn’t require a bunch of fancy tools?
I’ve got the perfect plans for you 🙂
I recently built all of our kitchen cabinets from 100% PureBond Plywood and pocket hole joinery. And, you guys, I’ve never had more compliments on anything in my life. They look amazing.
But the best part was, they were quick, easy, and much cheaper than if I had bought a bunch of hardwood to mill up myself…or if I had had someone else build my own custom cabinets.
For simplicity and to be able to build them with only plywood, I went with a clean, modern frameless design with full overlay doors. To save a few bucks, I built my cabinet boxes from 3/4″ PureBond Birch Plywood. But did you know that PureBond also has specialty hardwood plywoods, too?
To give some visual interest and add some warmth, I went with a full overlay cabinet door using 3/4″ PureBond Hickory Plywood. That’s right…Hickory Plywood. Who knew there was such a thing? And it’s GORGEOUS.
These 100% plywood cabinets are so easy to make and can save you a TON of money vs buying your next kitchen cabinets. Check out this how to video and get all the details, tips and tricks on the exact plans and build over on the blog at:

Looks great – question for you – how did you avoid the pocketholes showing on the underside of the cabinets? just filler then paint?
Thank you. Very nice video. Well done. You did not use wood glue, correct? And you did not add any other like 2×4 to support ?
Watched video again just to see what kind of edge banding you used, missed it I guess.. I used the cedan brand and wasn’t impressed, used the red oak plywood and banding for cabinets I painted. Using the pure bond hickory panels for my upper cabinets and will need a good edge banding for them…
We will be using your plans to make our cabinets? How many labor hours would you estimate this took you?
Nice content…good information…I like your work…however…it is a bit hard to hear and understand you over your background music.
Really i need a women just like you. I love woodkork! Blessings from Guatemala
These are awesome. I love the style too.
what is that thing you are using to help make the straight cuts of the plywood?
What did you use for the countertops?
