Homemade Floating Chop Saw Stand – Space Saving Design
Homemade FloatingChop Saw Stand. This one has been a long time coming. Just one of those projects I could never seem to get to. In this video we used some 2″ tubing with 1/4″ wall thickness for the receiver tubes, and 1.5″ tubing with 3/16″ wall for the main trusses to support the stand. This design allows for the chop saw to be removed and put away to allow full use of the welding table. This is a simple design that focuses on space savings.
If you are in a small garage or small workshop, space is a premium so everything needs to be well thought out on how to maximize shop space. This was my attempt at doing that.
The nice thing about this floating design is it allows room underneath to store other things such as a shop vac or other rolling cart. It’s also completely removeable if you want to use the entire table surface

nice idea ,what is the type of cutting disk fixed on?
This technique is used for production work,
Good idea but still requires 2 sliding rods and that is possible for perfect jobs.
Good video and smart idea. Having a modular setup is great for people with limited work space. What model of saw blade are you using to cut that stainless flatbar?
