    The beam cost a little under $300
    I got it from Grant Steel in Holbrook MA just outside of Boston: http://www.grantsteelcompany.com/index.html the are really nice and take the time to answer my questions since i am new to this type of steel work.
    Yes! it is a narrow for a typical coffee table but my loft space is long and narrow so i want a coffee table that doesn't block foot traffic.
    No way will it tip over. I will post some instagram story posts of me standing on the end! @benjaminuyeda

I think it could be kind of cool if you were to do three of those stacked on top of each other (bolted together obviously) with maybe some cushions on top and making it a bench that you can put in front of a cute little rustic wooden barn like table making the mixture of style be a cross between an industrial modern/barn yard chic. Or just this way is totally cool too! Love your work!

  3. Bluing the metal black like on many firearms is always a nice finish, if you don’t want to blu the steel I’m sure doing a patina finish would fit your style.
