What my video is about: How to repair your pipe boot that is on your roof. Install new pipe boot over existing without even removing your old boot.
The Perma-Boot is a gasket-less pipe boot repair system that slides over your existing vent pipe, flashing Once installed, the Perma-Boot covers your existing gasket completely and prevents water from entering your home again.

Will leak again. Should have installed a new boot. You even said is was improper. Never the right time to do the wrong thing! Your install relies on re-caulking every year or so.
This contradicts what Permaboot says – the unit does NOT get glued/caulked at the bottom – and the use of the adhesive elsewhere is optional and in most cases is not necessary.
shucks
you might remove this video and replace it with your properly done video?
Permaboot does not recommend cutting shingles away at the bottom.
So who are all the idiots who gave this a thumbs up?
Those cut-away shingles make me nervous.
You should really delete this video. Bad, bad advice.
just came across this and wanted to say what a horrible video. I know its from 2013 but still. Please do not say there you go! and start a new sentence everytime after.
How do I remove a sealed permaboot to reshingle?
What if it's leaking but it looks to be leaking below the pipe hole in the attic? Looks more like around the bottom flashing than the pipe…If I got a Perma Boot, it still wouldn't stop the leak cause it's around the flashing…the Gasket and Seal look find, no tears or holes…so I still would have to replace the whole flashing that slide down over the pipe anyways…by the time I get a Perma Boot too and the Flashing I'm paying double and having to get both instead of just one or the other….
