Before and After Kitchen Remodel Tour
If you’re like me you love a good before and after. I love watching HGTV with my husband and watching a whole house undergo a transformation in about 30-60 minutes. It’s so satisfying.
For the past 5 weeks I’ve been an eye witness to my own kitchen remodel and it’s been a lot of fun! I have loved being able to watch the whole process from demolition to finished product. I am happier with the end result than I thought I would be! I made a video so you can see the kitchen remodel afters better than you would be able to in pictures.
Here is the information of services and materials we used in our kitchen renovation:
Contractor: We hired a general contractor to manage the whole remodel. Scott Janke did a wonderful job and his guys do meticulous work. I can honestly say that I was happy with the timeline he followed and the quality of work that was done. They did demo, installed can lights, fixed tile, knocked down the arch, installed under-mounted cabinet lights, put a gas line in, tiled the back splash, installed the gas range, etc. I recommend hiring Janke Contstruction for your remodeling projects.
Counter tops: The counters and sink were from Marble Ventures. They are a white quartz with gray specks. The quartz is from Han Stone and it’s called Aurora Snow. The sink is a composite sink and it’s called “smoke gray.”
Cabinets: The cabinets were made and installed by Legacy Mill. We went with a soft white color and the island is called pigeon gray. The drawer pulls are a brushed nickel (T-bar pull brushed nickel berenson hardware). Legacy Mill worked so hard to meet our timeline expectations. We were so grateful and happy with the work they did.
Back Splash: After searching fruitlessly for the perfect subway tile in gray all around town I finally ordered a tile online from Home Depot. I was crossing my fingers that it would be perfect. And it was! The name is “Jeffrey Court Wolfe Grey 3 in. x 6 in. Glossy Ceramic Wall Tile.”
Stools: I ordered my bar stools from Amazon* and assembled them in about 30 minutes. They are super cute and you can easily wipe them off. https://amzn.to/3erA9wm *
Range and Hood and Microwave: I ordered the range, hood and microwave directly from GE. I haven’t use them much yet because this project literally got finished yesterday. But I can’t wait to start using them!
Café™ 30″ Smart Slide-In, Front-Control, Dual-Fuel, Double-Oven Range with Convection
GE® 30″ Wall-Mount Pyramid Chimney Hood
GE Profile™ 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Sensor Microwave Oven
Flooring: We kept the same tile flooring that we had before. It is Mohawk brand and it’s name is Treyburne Antique Chateau.

Your kitchen came out beautiful, enjoy it with what ever you decide to make and even to sit and have some coffee with the family. All the best!
What lights did you use for under the cabinet
I am a kitchen designer and a cabinet manufacturer – I also love your channel and you have taught me how to use my Insta Pot – thank you!! Your new kitchen is really nice – just a word of caution…I heard you mention that you might put your Insta pot on the counter top under the corner area upper cabinets. You CANNOT let the steam go up against the underside of your cabinets or you will ruin them quickly. That is actually true of any appliance that emits heat, ie; toaster, coffee maker, etc. Just a word of caution. I have similar cabinets and I always have my Insta Pot on the island so when the steam lets go it has lots of room to dissipate. Best wishes and keep cooking!! I KNOW how wonderful it is to cook with a new kitchen!!
Love seeing the kitchen makeover!
Very nice. I love the organization. I love the baking station.
Wow. I absolutely love your kitchen! The color, the cabinets, everything!
its a british brand and is said “Ox-o” not “o.x.o.”
I am a new subscriber and have been enjoying watching your InstantPot videos. I just bought a 3-qt pot (cooking for 1 most of the time) a week ago, and I have learned so much from you already. You are professional, but approachable, warm, friendly, and funny. Thank you! Now, about your kitchen…it is absolutely gorgeous, and well thought out, and I am so jealous, lol. So, now I am trying to figure out how to duplicate it in my 34-foot 5th wheel that I happily live in full-time. :))
Grey & white….. LOVE everything about your new kitchen!!! (must admit, besides spacing… your old one was quite nice too) Congrats… seems your wish list was met; you are blessed, definitely well deserved. Stay safe & be well.
