  1. Oh I’m strictly a stringer guy ,more small stringers are stronger than a weave and you can control your heat input /distortion a lot better ( forest gump voice (a Lott).

  2. Weave vs stingers…
    Both movements are acceptable for obtaining a AWS structural steel cert.
    With that being said, one must choose the best movement that is able to be attained by oneself. Like a signature, everyone's is different. I used the weave when I certified for structural steel 2" thick plate, carbon steel 3G
    I personally think the weave looks best and enjoy having mastered the weave movements

  3. I ran Kobelco SS wires that could run on CO2 or 75/25 on low pressure air pipe and plate for about 7 years. I really wish I had taken time to experiment with back purging with the same gas when I had that job.
