I Finally got around to making some rod holders for the many, many TIG rods I have. 1-1/2″ PVC pipe, couplings, and end caps make some pretty decent tig rod holders. Now all that is left is to make a wall rack and maybe even a new welding cart that will hold several of these. ER70s-2, er308L, er309L, 4043 aluminum, and silicon bronze …or aluminum bronze will take care of most welding jobs….you never know what filler rod you need to repair a customers part, but these few rods will get you off to a great start.

  1. Whoa…what the hell? I have mere 80 CF tanks and it costs me $75-80 to get them swapped out in Northern California, for either pure argon or 75/25. Am I being ripped off? There are only a couple of places to do this near me, and they both charge about the same.

  2. Has anyone tig welded with the Lincoln EN13479 carbon filler wire? I've been using it, and I find it extremely slow and sluggish to move the puddle. Just wondering did anyone else notice this. Cheers
