Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  2. Just wondered with all that nature…Are there any of those life threatening Australian insects or animals that you have to watch out for in your garden?

  3. If ever his wife go's missing and he has abundant fruit on his trees……..! Great tips as usual. Can't wait for the winter to be over to try some of these out in the UK.

  4. I water the garden with my sink water. All the seeds from my plants go into the water. So far I have had volunteer tomatoes, bell peppers, and other vegetables come ups all over my garden.

  5. I dont even care about the plastic in the coffee pods or the inability to compost them. make coffee from fresh ground beans because its just that much better tahn instant coffee, its worth. and you can compost it as a bonus
