A while back we were commissioned to do a set of vintage style furniture , for a hair stylist.So we bought some cheap MDF sheets and got down to business.

From my experience having the side walls of a cabinet fixed on the side of the bottom piece, when that bottom piece has legs under it is a big risk. All weight from above is discharged in the floor just through those screws and dowels used to fix those two parts together . Is much better when the side wall is sitting completely to tge bottom piece snd you fix them like this. (I hope my english make sense)

This is Ikea furniture. If you at least cut some dadoes for the shelves, it might hold together. Well for like 6 months.
