FYI: I asked for permission to do this DIY. I see so many comments from landlords upset regarding rental apartments DIY's. If you are renting please remember that you need permission to make any changes and that if you don't please make sure they are not permanent and that you will return the place the same it was giving to you. The day I move I will be placing back items I removed. Thank you.

Be careful with contact paper, my mom did this years ago and when we tried to remove it, it destroyed the finish on the wood cabinets.It was very difficult to remove.

Hi! Love the DIY. I have rentals and wondered how this wears as counters are used? How often would you replace it? ie I pay for labor so it would cost more in that case but love the idea of a real fresh new look at the small cost and labor. Hope you reply, I want to try it out. You did a great job explaining and are very detailed! LOVE THAT
