Kitchen Remodel: Part 11 – Stove and Countertops

It was time to put the stove into position in the kitchen. The stove had been stored in the living room on a cart that I had made for it. I used a comment from Jon Wilson from the stove cart video to get to stove off the cart once we had it in the kitchen. This method consisted of placing a lever under the stove and lifting the stove up and pulling the cart out. Once the stove was on the floor, it could be moved into place.
The countertops have also been installed. We used quartz countertops by Pentalquartz and had 3CM Stone install the countertops.

  1. At 3:03 I see you dodging around the corner of that blade guard as you go, it's right there ready to poke you in the uncomfortable parts, and I wouldn't be surprised from the dodge if it's got you once or twice. From this view and my memory of the build video for that cover, I'm pretty sure you could lop a substantial amount of that corner off without impacting functionality, I'd wager an inch to an inch and a half; which would give you a sizable comfort gap with pieces this size, as well as reduce the impact force if ever the twain shall meet. BTW I'm assuming a fillet not a chamfer.

  2. Initially I really didn't like the wall clock, but thought it was a nice aspect of your videos. Now though, the clock has grown on me, and think it looks great with the new kitchen.

By the way, the kitchen looks awesome.
