Great video. I have two Moens. So I have to do this every 6 months. Is their a better cartridge then the Moen ones?
Do you look for the part # before hand , or you carry bunch?
Nice video, and the core puller tool looks awesome as my last cartridge replacement was not pleasant due to arthritis issues. One thing you didn't mention is that if you take a picture of your faucet, go to Moen's website (contact us) and fill out the information along with a picture or two, they will send you a "free" OEM replacement cartridge along with the little white plastic tool which is also meant to help twist the cartridge to get it to release as well. OEM cartridges are quite a bit more money than the aftermarket ones, but as another commenter stated, the aftermarket isn't as good as OEM. My home was built in 1999, so I've replaced these a couple of times with 2 bathrooms. The only aftermarket one I tried got very stiff to turn, then one day easily broke off the whole stem, with the water running, so I had to shut things down and obtain another aftermarket locally, and shortly after that, I put in an OEM that was free of charge from Moen.

Why do you think this happens? I've had to replace the cartridge in my shower twice since in the past couple years.
