We reveal the 2015 IKEA Kitchen Contest Makeover winners’ new space! Discover how designer Sarah Hartill gave the lucky homeowners their dream kitchen.
The homeowner’s wanted a kitchen they could use for family time and entertaining. Keeping this in mind, Sarah knocked down the dividing walls to make an open-concept layout that included a dining area. A large island centers the space, providing lots of storage.
Sarah’s design is clean and modern with some mid-century elements to complement the rest of the home’s modern decor. A textured geometric backsplash serves as a subtle accent while stone-like porcelain tiles bring warmth in. Large windows offer a flood of natural light, adding to the relaxed and cool vibe.
