I admire your expertise, and learn from your videos, as I have only just started woodwork as a hobby. Thank you. This repair seemed labour intensive and here in the Uk labour charges are high, how do you make it viable to repair, rather than the customer purchasing new?

I was a bit disappointed that you did not keep the ORIGINAL DESIGN...
I understand the rot-causing issue... if I were to solve this problem I would use a SPACER of a sort between the top and the diagonal support... what came to my mind was an ALUMINIUM STRIP (2 in. x 96 in. Aluminum strip, 1/8 in. Thick) that will be placed between the top and the supporters, and would reduce the water exposure of the support beam. it should be used as one long spacer ..
