1/3 to 1/2 would be 2/6ths to 3/6ths or a ratio of 2:3 by volume. Not sure on weight.
I'm looking for a beeswax to use on my kitchen cabinets. I stained/polyed(minwax) them . They have never kept the shine. I was under the understanding that beeswax will protect them and make them shine. What do I use?
I am disappointed...no beer in your fridge!
Oh wow... I've watched this video about ten times and only just got the Brazilian wax joke!
I am trying to get a new hive completed, my first...
I'm thinking that 100% Tung oil, followed by some TO/microcrystaline/paraffin combo sounds good... not quite wax dipping, but same idea for a natural finish (over Ecowood Treatment).
Any suggestions here?
May I make a suggestion? If you go to thrift shops, you can usually find crockpots for sale cheap. I use liners for easy clean-up, and have never had a crockpot with wax set on low heat catch fire. A dedicated crockpot for wax recipes is a very nice thing to have.
Eight ounces of beeswax, 2 oz. of resin, and ½ oz. of Venetian turpentine, to be melted over a slow fire; the mass, when quite melted, is poured into a sufficiently large stone-ware pot, and while it is still warm 6 oz. of rectified turpentine are stirred in. After the lapse of twenty-four hours the mass will have assumed the consistency of soft butter, and is ready for use!
Is it boiled or raw linseed oil?
Would this finishing work waterproof? I like the idea of having my wood with a natural look. But I am not sure if this finishing would be waterproof. I made a table that will be use in a kitchen where there might be water around... just wondering if your lindseed oil and wax finish would work as waterproof.
Greetings from Mexico!
For a guy who's in to bushcrafting, which one of these recipes would be the go to if you only could choose one? For leather, metal, wood (axes) etc. Soft one?
