I had a go at making a modern chair out of bent wood, for the #RocklerBentWoodChallenge. This was my first time building a chair as well as steam bending timber like this, so it tested most of my woodworking knowledge. I had a lot fun on this one and couldn’t be happier with the result!
I copied this chair off a picture I found online. I wanted to credit the original designer but couldn’t find a whole lot on him. All I know is his name is James O’Leary and he created this piece as part of a furniture design course. I hope to one day give him proper recognition but so far this is all I can find: https://csn.ie/courses/furniture-construction-technology/furniture-design-making-2

thank you.
bang up job! especially for your first go at it. if I didn't know any better I would have thought you had done this before. I really like the bent lamination stuff. I have some plans for a few things using bent lamination. great job robin!
Really awesome
Well done! I am working on a similar method. Very useful video. Have you seen/considered stream bags? That allow you to clamp under heat and cool limiting the spring back in the wood, if you are not laminating but working a thicker piece of wood.
What wood damper is it that you got?
Beautiful chair I very liked
