  • I know i'm being nit picky but man...consider wearing some gloves for this job.

  • That toilet barely fits in that room and my God he's touching decades of waste

  • I know some old plumbers who don't wear gloves and don't believe in soap and water after the working ....

  • The first time I did this was decades ago. I helped my Dad put a toilet in the basement. We put the cast iron ring in place and then packed it with shredded lead and oakum (which I believe used to be packed between the boards on boats to waterproof the hulls). It put the fear of toilets in me, but this "new" method is much easier.

  • He should have replaced those those cheap plastic "nuts" on the closet bolt with regular 1/4" nuts and metal washer. . Plastic is garbage and won't stabilize the bolts well enough in the upright position while lowering the toilet!
