How to flux core weld with the Harbor Freight welder. My first time welding with flux core solo, wanted to share with you. Welding vids: https://goo.gl/l01tJN Sub here: http://goo.gl/3zM702
This is a cheap flux core welder that actually works quite well. Similar to MIG welding, but without having to buy the argon gas tank. I am using the Harbor Freight 90 amp rig that sells for about $100. This rig is for your average weekend DIY project person, it welds thin metal easily. My advice is to take a class and/or practice a lot. Be sure to follow all safety rules and wear safety gear! You can damage your eyes and burn your skin.

This actually helped me more than the instructions by professionals. They would go down a lot of tangents about very technical stuff.
Reverse your polarity for flux core. Keep your nozzle about 1/2" from your work. When starting a weld, hold the arc still for half a second to build a puddle. Then, start moving at about 5sec./inch keeping the arc in the middle of the puddle.
Why do people who DONT know what they're doing think they can teach people? Ffs...
Great video, nice to see someone who has no ego and admits he is learning . thank you . I found this video very helpful.
I am a beginner, is this less strong than gas MIG? For building roofing, is this suitable?
I do almost all of my welding with flux core, I've never had any training however I guess I've got the advantage of having spent many years stick welding, truth is that unless you weld all the time you cannot expect perfection, if it holds together it'll do! Just make sure you go slow and keep that tip less than a half inch from the work and you should be fine, stop occasionally and review how it's going and adjust as required.
Don't wear synthetics. Invest in a cotton or leather welding jacket. You can get them on Amazon for under $80.
People need to stop saying that flux core welding is only for "light" application's. There's some guys who use it strictly on heavy industrial repairs and I also know people who use it to weld thin sheet metal on cars. Every welding application has it's pros and cons, as well as it's nuances that make each process more beneficial given certain circumstances and variables. If it couldn't hold respectable tensile, it wouldn't be an available option..
Attitude is everything. I learned more from someone being humble than from an expert not being relatable. I like this dude.
Hm..i really like your video.More people like you and World will be better for all of us.Thank you
