In this weeks video we are using tig pulse settings of 33 pulses per second to weld .032″ (0.8mm) thick steel tubing for a bike frame. The manufacturer of the steel tubing recommends using weldmold 880 filler so in this video some of it is welded using weldmold 880 and some is welded with er70s-2 tig filler rod.

312 welding rods really weld nice. They are rally forgiving and really strong too.
Having really good fitment on the joints is probably 90% of the battle here. Having gaps with really thin wall stuff is a nightmare.
Did you weld this without any back purge. When do you need back purge gas ??

Hello Jody! I've been welding thin wall stainless tubing and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should use .045 or .035 rod for .060 wall thickness on tubing. I read your article saying for thin wall, to match the size of the filler rod with the wall thickness and to go one size under for stainless. However, .045 looks almost the same size as .060, but it's definitely smaller than 1/16th which is what I am currently using. What size would you recommend for .060 stainless tubing? Thanks for your help!
Tungsten grinders are obscenely expensive nowadays. I just ordered a diamond wheel and put it on my spare right angle grinder. Less than $20.
