Quick Tip: Spot Welding 22 gauge sheet steel

I’m not a certified welder. I’m simply a self taught welder and thought I could pass on a tip that has helped me along the way. Pro welders probably spot weld sheet metal in their sleep and have their machines dialed in perfectly.

However for those of you just getting started or wanting to try working with sheet metal projects hopefully this will speed up the learning curve.

When I first started making the sliding metal doors I was u
sing 24 gauge sheet metal but found it was too thin and would lay flat 100% of the time. So I moved to 22 gauge and eliminated the ripple effect.
