STILL SHOWING IN AMAZON 1200 YEARS FROM PREVIOUS TENANT ! LAST ICE AGE ?
I find it interesting reading the pros and cons on biochar and comments regarding ashes. I have 32 acres of land. Probably 1/3 hay field, 1/3 mixed wood and native grass and 1/3 heavily wooded. Over the years I have burned countless brush fires from storm debris to just natural build-up of dead limbs and trees. Without fail anytime I have burned a brush pile the vegetation in the immediate area of the burn probably doubles in size, greening and overall health compared to areas just feet away. I'd guess maybe there's 1/4 charcoal and 3/4 ash as it is just a burnt brush pile. You'll see the same happen when there's forest fires or grass fires, it may take a year but generally the area that burns will be much more lush and productive versus unburnt areas adjacent to it. I think a lot of these guys try making it into science when actually nature has had it under control for millions of years. FYI..no I have never added anything to any burn area, nature knows what she' doing. JMHO
Excellent! Vast knowledge!
