Something else that works well for removing staples like that is a long thin flathead screwdriver. You slide the screwdriver in between the staple and pull up. You will still get some that one side comes out first and you will need to use pliers to remove those or you can break them off, whichever works best for you.

You should not be laying tile and certainly should not be giving advice. Schluter would not endorse how you use their product. You are someone that has no clue about laying tile or using Schluter products. I have lost a lot of respect for Lowe's who must be compensating you for terrible advice for unsuspecting DIYer's. Unsubscribe yourself… please!
