Tommy is a straight up killer
No blade guard on that grinder… Setting a dangerous example out there in videoland. Bang! Zoom! To the emergency room!
Old doors looked to be better quality. Unless it was rusted straight through, a good sanding and repainting would have sufficed.
safety first .
Spent years fabricating steel, never used a guard on the grinders, never seen a grinder accident.
Can't get enough of these videos!!
Why grout and not concrete? Also, is there something that you can paint on the existing concrete to make the new grout hold better besides water?
Can u still use plumbers putty under the sink or is silicone recommend ?
He's going to cut himself
SMx dr d do jdjd Suzie fisvshe
“That’s the idear.”
If you were in California, then you could have reproductive harm from the lead.
This video needs an update… I'd like to offer my house. As in… PLEASE… come to my house and do this and show how different installations may vary… PLEASE!!! I'll be available when you are. See you soon!
Why did he use a masonry drill bit that's more than twice the length of the screw
Tommy silva! Awesome too watch
I love reading the comments from guys that aren't in the profession saying Tommy should have done this or that. He knows what he's doing. Get over it!
Rusty, sharp metal. Put some gloves on!
Fun fact. Tommy has a foul temper and these films have to be heavily edited to remove his constant swearing.
It’s good to see him using Robberson screws. Tommy knows what he’s doing!
Thought he’d hand made it . Those doors are junk
want to reuse the flashing that has a bunch of tears in it.
Real men dont use gloves when handling sharp metal
How come the top piece of the frame came perfectly sized but the bottom piece had to be trimmed on site?
Im just here to see how things work in a home, its so fascinating learning how things get done. No way in hell im DIYing this tho lmao
how do I get Tom to come to my house, to make these videos?
Oh my god those old doors.

Why use grout instead of cement?
I just redid my cellar doors, without this video I would have never had the confidence to do it myself!
Ive made a couple of these I love adding a little all insulation when I can. This guy reminds me of some of my mentors growing up can always learn something new from them.
You have to love the grinder safety, it’s just amazing! I love his Invisible face mask and shield, plus the invisible guard for his grinder! You don’t really need safety with a grinder, they’re not dangerous at all. And the way he just let the grinder blade hit the ground like that, has safety written all over this video. I just noticed he use a cut off wheel to grind off screws.
can't say I'm impressed with his safety performance there. Using and angle grinder without the blade guard, without the handle, without a face shield, and did he just toss it on the ground????
Cedar Tan caulk? I thought caulk only came in white or clear….
Tommy, PUT THE GUARD BACK ON. Please.
Just once, I wish one of these guys would show how correct it if it isn't square!
There is always room for improcement on every one of the building projects id keep trim and siding above and have membrane going up for snow damns on bulkhead maybe pt trim not it all sandwiched
Boy only YouTube turds would question Tom Silva. This guy blindfolded could build an entire house.
Bet he never painted it haha. Jk.
Tommy No Gloves…..hands are like an 80 year old catchers mitt
CLEAN!
why dont they install stairs in the house and get rid of the bulkhead.
I love the the original guy's from this old house, my dream is that if ever want a house these guy's will be the only ones i can trust to BUILD it, all of the the especially Abrams.
Tom is a knowledgeable man. I wish I knew half of what he does!
What kind of grout was used for that?
Good demo. Would have been perfect if the assistant was given the opportunity to do some of the real work… with the tools.
you should have cut the top ends of the side plates instead of the ends you see.
Dap caulk? Everything about this job screams quality.
Back in the day when TOH still had real DIY videos around old houses.
Tom ? No gasket between the treated and the grout ? Buddy you know you can't rely on treated alone !
Perfection ❤️
This dude is going to cut his fingers off, had wayyy to close to that grinder blade.
Tetanus would like to know your location
If you do not have Tommy's invincible hands, wear gloves when ripping rusty metal out
Cool
Gotcha, no guard on the cut off wheel. Please do not operate this tool without a guard. It’s an easy way to lose your hand. Form an avid listener and we love the show. But please play safe, you guys are way to important to your family and the average home owner to get hurt.
Just go to Woodglut if you want to know how to do it yourself.
If you are looking for something like this, you will find it on the Woodglut website.
The wealth of knowledge that that guy has. Is Unreal
This is what I need done. I am having a hard time finding someone to do the work here in Baltimore. Would you all know of any companies? I would appreciate it.
GLOVES?????
Why grout instead of concrete or mortar?
Wondering why he didn't use concrete instead of grout?
In none of the videos I have seen so far Tom hadnot used angle grinder with guard or even side handle. why someone in that level of experience should make a mistake like that ???
i was thinking if we remodel the entrance of basement that is much good like lion mouth open .
Put a guard on the most dangerous tool in you truck.
I wanna park my Camero in the basement
Grout because it’s softer than cement we want that bond and once it gets hard it won’t crack it will hold moisture better than cement does it’s Type s HLM 3.5 correct?
It’s pretty bad when the bulkhead to your basement is the nicest part of your house.
Isn't tommy all about safety first yet he has no side handle on the grinder or shield on if it kicks back that finger is gone
How much would a job cost for someone to do this with cheap material's
Tommy don't need no gloves~!
kids should try this at home
You see how everything lines up even at the bottom, that means is square…and it also means Tom Silva did it.
But those metal doors with the extra pieces required are over $800. Great for Tom and his clients. I can't afford it!
Untreated wood against concrete and steel. In an outdoor setting that doesn't work.
Only watched first 30 seconds so far, gotta love how he doesn't bother with gloves even with old sharp cut up steel
Procuring the correct Bilco brand unit for the application would have prevented the custom cutting of the metal and a good amount of time.
Please, show us how to repair the wooden bulkhead doors and the frames with water-proofing.
Should never take a guard off a grinder
I thought grout was for tiling?
