How to Refinish Furniture — How to Restore Old Furniture — DIY Furniture Restoration [3 of 3]

00:02 The surface of the wood is repaired i.e. filling in any defects using wood filler. The filler used should be quick drying, easy to stand and accept stain.
00:24 Sanding — the surface of the dresser are sanded. First with a coarse sandpaper and then working down to a fine sandpaper.
02:10 The new stain and finish is ready to be applied.
03:10 The wood is stained. The wood stain is applied with a brush
04:17 A sanding sealer is applied this aids the sanding process and allows for an easy to accomplish smooth finish. The sealer is allowed to dry overnight followed by a light sanding.
05:46 Different types of finishes are discussed but in the end Kurt and Avian decide to go with a satin finish varnish
