Here’s a couple of tips and things I didn’t mention in the video.
1.When you make the wooden panel you should file or cut around the top edges of it so it fits flatter with the steel ring. Don’t worry if it looks ugly because the ring will cover it all up.
2.Wire brushing will leave a lustrous shine so if you don’t want that do it by hand.
3.When counter sinking your screws make sure to not go to far down or you will make the steel to thin and the screw will pop out.
4.Don’t tighten the top screws too much. They aren’t load bearing and just need to keep the ring in place.

May I ask what you used to treat the steel to keep the industrial look? I want to make one but don’t want to paint it and also don’t want all my grinding corners to rust etc. Thanks
