How to Make Hairpin Table Legs | EASY

Today on Modern Builds I’m making DIY Steel Hairpin Legs for a live edge slab table I worked on with Johnny Brooke from Crafted Workshop and Cressel Anderson from Makercise. I wanted to show how simple it is to cold-bend steel rods to create custom sized / shaped legs rather than just buying a set on amazon. As an added touch, we painted the tips to add a more custom look. Make sure and check out the collab videos linked below, as well as the “intro to welding for woodworkers” video on my second channel.

  • Now I have to spend a million dollars on a new home with a huge garage and all those tools to save $50 on table legs. Perfect..
    Fml... sigh..

  • Where do I find boyfriends like you guys!?! I wish I had a bf into making tables and stuff with me!!!!

  • Really cool video. I made a set myself a few weeks ago using an oxy-acetylene torch to heat the round stock for bending. My jig was very similar to yours. I did make my top plates of of 2 pieces of flat plate that I tig welded into right angles. The biggest difference on mine is that I drilled through holes in the plate and pushed the legs through so I could weld both sides of the legs and then ground down the welds on top. They turned out really well.
