I’ve had this piece of Maple for years, and been waiting for the right project. I turned the legs on the lathe, and attached them to the top with a mortise and tenon. I really enjoyed this woodworking project. I got to incorporate turning with some traditional woodworking. That's a stunning piece of wood. I wouldn't fill it in; it looks like a piece of art, imho.
Put a bonzai tree in that void, that would look super cool. Really nice table!! how did you get that type of piece of wood?

No problems with wood movement concerning the legs? I have a nice slab of walnut that I’m still deciding on what to do with the legs, your idea is simple and looks very good! Love the table!
