Aside from brewing beer, building a brew stand is my newest project for 2014. I am interested in building a brew stand to help organize the gear a bit, get better performance out of my pump, streamline my brewing process and prepare for potential chiller upgrades in the near future.

I'd turn it into a 2 tier with the boil kettle on the floor so you could gravity feed from your mash tun to your kettle then you only have to have one pump instead of 2
I like this idea. I think cutting it would be ideal. Just make sure your pumps work!
Lower it 6" and add the angle to the back. Also maybe some gussets (triangulation). I would also add cross members for the pots to sit on. Maybe some casters too.
