This is exactly the same issue I have with my toilet fill up flush valve. You’re video is amazing. Dad and daughter working together. This video was posted 2014 and I found out about this video this 2020 year 5/2020. I bet daughter is all grown up now :) working with dad as business partner .... maybe.. anyways thank you for posting this video.
I'm absolutely amazed you did not empty the cistern by simply flushing it!. I realise there would be a cupful left at the bottom which could be siphoned off in a few seconds or simply collect the amount that would run out when you undid the valve, in a bowl or suchlike.
